Rio de Janeiro is located in southeast Brazil on Guanabara Bay. It's known for it's curved-shaped beaches with wide
mosaic sidewalks. A partial view of photos beach (shown on the right) draws many visitors.
Rio de Janeiro means "River of January". It's the second largest city in Brazil. In the past, Rio was the capital of Brazil.
But now many people outside of Brazil relate Rio to the statue of Jesus. The actual statue (shown above) is called
"Christ the Redeemer" which sits on Corcovado peak.
